Kodagu, better known as Coorg, is a hilly district of Karnataka in the Western Ghats, covered in coffee plantations shaded by tall forest trees. Madikeri is the main town, but the real Coorg experience is staying on an estate and walking through the plantations.
Between walks, you can visit waterfalls, the source of the Kaveri river at Talakaveri, and one of India's largest Tibetan settlements at Bylakuppe.

By train
Coorg has no railway; the nearest convenient station is Mysuru.
By air
Mangaluru airport is about 140 km away and Bengaluru about 260 km away, with better connections.
