Terms of service

Last updated 10 October 2026

These terms apply when you use WanderTrail (wandertrail.org and our apps). By using WanderTrail you agree to them, and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Who we are

WanderTrail is run by Joicy Joy, Aluva, Kerala, India (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at support@wandertrail.org.

Who can use WanderTrail

You must be 18 or older to use WanderTrail, because it puts you in touch with local guides you may meet in person. If you use WanderTrail for a business or group, you confirm you can accept these terms on its behalf.

What WanderTrail is, and isn't

  • WanderTrail is a free planning tool. It suggests destinations, itineraries, routes and budgets, partly using AI.
  • Costs are estimates, not quotes. Prices, travel times, seasons, permits and visa rules change, and AI can be wrong. Check important details (transport, stays, permits, weather, health and safety advice) with the provider or official source before you book or travel.
  • We don't sell trips, take bookings or handle payments. Any booking you make is between you and the provider.
  • Fair-use limits apply to the AI features so the service stays free for everyone. See Always free.

Your account

You're responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in details to yourself and give us accurate information. You can delete your account at any time from your profile.

Local guides

  • Guides are independent. They aren't our employees or agents, and they set their own services and rates.
  • We review each profile before it appears, but we don't verify licences, identity or experience. Licence details are reported by the guide; ask to see the licence when you meet.
  • A guide may link their Instagram profile. It's added by the guide and we don't verify it or control its content. Guides must link only an account that is their own.
  • Any arrangement for a guided trip is between you and the guide. We aren't a party to it and aren't responsible for the guide's services, conduct or safety, or for any payment between you.
  • Never send advance payments, deposits or bank transfers because of a message on WanderTrail. Agree the price and pay on the day. Report anyone who asks otherwise.
  • Guides also agree to the guide code of conduct. We may hide, suspend or remove a profile that breaks it or these terms.

Your content and how you behave

You keep ownership of what you post: guide profiles, messages, published itineraries and poll names. You let us store and display it to run WanderTrail. Don't post or send anything that:

  • is false or misleading, including fake profiles, photos or licences;
  • harasses, threatens, discriminates against or exploits anyone;
  • is obscene, hateful, or harmful to children;
  • infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy;
  • is spam, a scam, or asks for money in advance;
  • breaks any law in force in India or where you are.

Don't misuse the service: no scraping, automated or bulk requests, attempts to get round fair-use limits, or interfering with how WanderTrail works or with other people's accounts.

You can block or report a conversation from inside it. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend accounts that break these rules, and we'll act on valid legal requests.

Group polls and shared links

Anyone with a poll link can see the poll, the names people voted with and their choices, and can vote. Share poll and itinerary links only with people you're happy to show them to. Polls expire after 60 days.

Advertising and other websites

WanderTrail is paid for by advertising, and links to other websites and services. We aren't responsible for their content, products or practices. How we use data for analytics and ads is in our privacy policy.

Our content

WanderTrail's design, text, guides and logo belong to us or our licensors. Photos are credited to their owners. You may share links and use what you plan for your own trips, but not copy the site or its content for commercial use without our permission.

Suspension and ending

You can stop using WanderTrail and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and we may change or stop features, telling you where we reasonably can.

Disclaimers and liability

WanderTrail is provided free and “as is”. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don't promise it will be error-free or always available, or that suggestions suit your circumstances.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your travel arrangements, bookings, or dealings with guides or other users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

If you break these terms or the law, you agree to cover reasonable losses we suffer as a result.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Cochin (Kochi), Kerala, have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Grievance officer

In line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules under it, complaints about content on WanderTrail, or about how it's run, can be sent to our grievance officer:

Include the link to the content or profile, and what's wrong. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days. For urgent safety concerns, also report the conversation or profile on WanderTrail, and contact local police if anyone is in danger.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as WanderTrail changes. We'll update the date above, and tell signed-in users about significant changes. Using WanderTrail after a change means you accept the updated terms.
